STONE placed attention to detail to all connection points that held the existing letters together. As these are the most important points of the structure-they hold the letters from falling off the roof. Post completion, STONE made sure all letters were secure and safe.

Due to the proximity to the water, the steel exhibited extreme weatering to the structural frame. STONE scoped the frame to be repaired at locations that exhibited spalling or observed to have missing sections and then repainted the steel utililzing a paint that protects the steel from aging and weathing quicker, allowing for the sign to keep its robust color and character. 

STONE conducted tests on the steel to make sure that it would support the weight of the newly replaced letters when clipped on. Upon installation of all applicable clips to each indivdual letter, STONE was not disappointed with the result.

The last and final touch to the Tudor City sign was nothing less than the letters themselves. STONE took precise measurements of the existing letters to satisfy Landmarks Preservation Commission's mandate to replace historical conditions in kind. Upon fabrication and coating of the letters, the final top coat was painted with a tone of gold and a light sparkle to reflect in the sunlight and boast in the New York City skyline.
