Boasting numerous commercial stores in front, 23 Waverly sidewalk exhibited wear and tear from constant pedestrian traffic. The cellar and sub-cellar below exhibited water infiltration and disrepairs as well. STONE repaired and waterproofed the cellars below ground and installed a new steel beam system for the installation of the new Q-decking and concrete sidewalk flag installation for a long lasting appeal to all the shops out front.
COLUMN PREPARATION AND REBAR PLACEMENT
STONE ensured that the existing historic building elements remained. We ensured that all elements were waterproofed prior to the pouring of new concrete. Rebar installation around the columns was carefully placed to ensure stability.
STONE scoped the replacement of the existing sidewalk with new steel curbs, welded wire fabric, and waterproofing for the new sidewalk installation prior to concrete pouring.
STONE also scoped the replacement of existing curb cuts for ADA compliancy. STONE ensured that all DOT guidelines were followed in the forming and installation of new curb cut.
Prior to the installation of the new sidewalk, STONE scoped the installation of a new structural system to ensure that the weight of the new sidewalk would be properly supported below.
Per the installation of the new steel beams for the sidewalk, STONE also installed new beams to capture the weight of the sidewalk space above the cellar below.
STONE scoped the replacement of the concrete to match existing. Prior to the pour, STONE ensured that the existing cast iron columns were brought back to their original condition and shine.
